Tasting Notes from the WineAccess Travel Log 2006 Crane Brothers Brodatious Crane Ranch Vineyard Napa Valley "Deep purple color. Lively aromas of tightly wound purple fruit, hint of vanilla. Deep and layered on the palate. Not obvious, but reined in, slowly shedding fine layers of chiseled red and currant fruit, building in breadth and intensity with air. Fine, dusty tannins on the finish, the calling card of the high skin:juice ratios of 2006. Carafe for an hour before drinking now or age for up to 7 years."

Tasting Notes 2007 Domaine St. Pierre Vacqueyras "A traditionally made blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that spends 12 months in oak, the powerhouse 2007 Vacqueyras boasts an inky/black/purple color as well as notes of incense, blackberries, kirsch, flowers, scorched earth, pepper, and spice. This pure, full-bodied, opulent, layered, seriously concentrated wine should drink beautifully for a decade." 91-94 points--Robert Parker, Wine Advocate "(tasting note from cuvee in 2008) Purple/black color. Huge dark, black and blue fruit aromas, with notes of cherry liqueur, white pepper in the background. The fruit really overwhelms everything here. Incredible richness on the palate with massive, primary red and black fruit flavors. Chewy. Finishes with excellent precision and length. This one should age for quite some time.
