Domaine Pascal Balland Sancerre

2008 Domaine Pascal Balland Sancerre

Region: France > Loire

Grape: Sauvignon Blanc

"Pale golden color to the edge. Tight, sturdy green apple aromas tinged with quince. Wonderfully solid on the attack, with excellent density and mouthfeel, rich and wound up. It just gains weight and complexity with air. We left a half bottle out on the counter overnight. The next day at lunch, the wine just exploded, showing off all the underlying richness and minerality. Drink now or age for up to a decade."

Rich and intense on the attack, packed with a solid core of cassis purity, it's the 2007 finish that really makes this stand out.
